I love gathering to celebrate new beginnings!
This post is one of a series of pre-wedding and wedding photographs for a beautiful couple, Akila and Imran, that begins with Akila’s Mehndi ceremony. The Mehndi ceremony is always one of my favorite parts of Indian weddings. It is all the bride’s close family and friends that get together watching the bride gets her hands and feet adorned with henna to make her even more beautiful for the wedding day.
The Akila’s Mehndi patterns and designs came out amazing. One of the Mehndi design is a Peacock which is the national bird of India and also known for its beauty and grace. It is a symbol of beauty, prosperity, love, and compassion. Mehndi tradition is meant to awaken the “inner light” and “inner beauty”.
Please stay tuned for the next post of Akila and Imran’s Sangeet, Pithi and reception photographs. Thank you Akila and Imran for the privilege capturing your beautiful days!
