Beyond Beauty | Akila and Imran’s Pithi Ceremony
Atlanta Indian Wedding Photography

Recently, we posted beautiful Akila’s Mehndi, Akila and Imran’s Sangeet ceremony photographs.  The third day of Akila and Imran’s pre wedding ceremony is marked with Pithi ceremony.

Pithi is the paste that made out of chickpea flour, turmeric, rose water, saffron, and other ingredients.  The paste cleanses the skin as well as adds a healthy glow.  This ceremony is a part of the bride and groom beautification process.

Akila and Imran’s closest friends and family all came up to give them blessings and rub the pithi paste on them.  Their family members and friends had fun getting them completely covered in the paste.

Please stay tuned for the final post of Akila and Imran’s wedding day!

Customs and rituals are important parts of the Indian wedding.  Previously, we have viewed beautiful photographs of Akila’s Mehndi ceremony.  We continue our post with photographs of Akila and Imran’s Sangeet ceremony at the Seasons Banquet Hall, Decatur.

The Sangeet is a joyful celebration.  Guests are dancing, singing, socializing, and celebrating!  The bridal and grooms party will each learn songs and dances to perform.  The term Sangeet is Sanskrit, which means as sung together.  This ceremony commonly takes place two or three days before the wedding day.

Please stay tuned for the next post of Akila and Imran’s pithi, nikah and reception photographs.  Thank you guys for giving me the privilege to capture your beautiful days!
